One For The Books is a reading community based in Amsterdam. Our events are for people who enjoy reading and socializing. Bring a book, any book.
What to expect
A cosy location in Amsterdam.
In between 10 and 40 people of all ages, genders, nationalities and backgrounds.
An instrumental playlist, so you don’t get distracted by lyrics.
You bring your book of choice.
We read for half an hour, followed by a half an hour break, then read for another half an hour followed by another break.
During the break we provide you topics to talk about with your neighbor, but feel free to discuss whatever you like.
We encourage you to change places after the first break, so you get to talk to someone new. But if you’re comfortable where you are, please stay.
Get at least an hour of reading done and enjoy conversations with friends and/or new people.
